Can we pay the fees online in parts? Like instead of the whole 1040$ at once, pay the 590+75 now, send out the application tomorrow and pay the remaining 495$ like 2 days after the application has been sent. I understand I would probably have to send just the receipt alone but I just wanted to find out if this can be done at all?

Yes, u can do this. Pay the initial $550 now, and then the final $495 after.... but if u send the application off before u can put the final receipt payment inside then u will have to wait until after you have been approved as sponsor and your application has been sent to its respective visa office otherwise they won't be able to match up the receipt to your file.... so either pay it apart and wait to send the application, or pay the first part then send the application and then once u have been approved to sponsor send the receipt to Missisauga AND to your visa office.

Hi tink!
What about the person who makes the payment? Does it matter from whose credit card the payment is made from? My husband is wrried that it would be an issue if I (the person to be sponsored) used my card to pay of it all. The issue is that it is just convenient to use my card because I have a visa card which is a debit card and he doesnt, he has a credit card and we just want to stay away from using credit cards. So we were wondering if it would be an issue if it shows that the payment is made with my card.

It doesn't matter who pays the fee. My dad put it on his credit card and no problems. Just be sure to enter the sponsor's information on the receipt. Also, pay all the fees at one time. Don't make installments. It's so much easier to have everything completed at the same time, and it will also make things a bit faster because CIC will not have to request payment later in the process.

hi fencesitter ..i had a complicated case.. short story. i paid all my fees 1040 upfront and my lawyer had the receipt. and when i contacted my embassy recently after 2 months from doing my second medical. they informed me that my file is still pending the rprf. and i was shocked . so i sent them the old receipt as well as faxed it to cpc-m and a week later i emailed the visa office and miss. and i had no response , so my wife called the cic. and they told her that rprf not showing in the system and she explained the situation and they said we have nothing only the 550 in the system. so after a horrible day and arguing with my lawyer i decided to go ahead and pay again and i pay it online and i used my visa card ( iam the applicant) and wrote my information on the receipt . yesterday i sent it to miss along with a cover letter explaining what happened ... my questions. was it OK i wrote my information on the receipt (applicant) btw i included my wife (sponsor ) information in the cover letter. and second question. how long do i have to wait for the payment to be confirmed and do you think they would fix this confusion and find my old payment. ... just from your experience .what can you tell me.
thank you.

I wouldn't have paid the fee again. I would have sent the official receipt showing the original payment. What good is your lawyer if he doesn't handle these kinds of problems??

As for putting your information, not sure. I don't see why it would be a problem, especially since you put your sponsor's information on the cover letter.

Not sure how long it will take for CIC. It's CIC. I'm sure that they will eventually find the original payment and refund the payment you just made.

Good luck!

ya i know, my lawyer had the reciept and it shows the 1040 had been paid. and when i told him about this. he called the cic and then called me back and he told me that cic had the payment. so my wife called cic again and still told her that its not there. that what made me pay it again. honestly i didnot know who was the truthful here. i mean i can see the total of 1040 on the old reciept. i dont know why its only showing the 550 in the cic system

anyways thank you FS . im gonna wait another week and call the cic again to see whats the updates ... have a good one.

Hey Sweden!
So with payment using a US card, would it still be 1040$? or would we have to calculate the exchange rate and pay the equivalent in US funds?

Your cc will automatically convert it, or at least it should. Check with the cc company to make sure.

lol thats the funny thing, it shows as 1040$ on my bank of America debit visa card....so except there is no exchange rate(which i doubt), i really dunno whats going on
