Hello all

I've got a question regarding listing all immediate family members in the application..

I have my spouse which is included in the application.. (neither of us have any children so no dependants)

Now it is also asking for us both to list all immediate family members including half brothers.. I have 3 HALF brothers and a full brother and sister..

2 of my HALF brothers me and my father (who we both share) are totally estranged from them as well as all other family members we have not spoken to them for the past 10+ years.. they were both born before I was and seen as I never grew up with them I don't know their birthdates and their mother passed away. My own father who we both share isn't even fully aware of their full birthdates (shocking I know)

Seen as it clearly asks for all immediate family members in the application AND their DOB which I don't know what do I put? Is CIC going to be verifying each and everyone of the people I put here? I don't want to be leaving them out but also don't want it to look like I'm lying by putting in birthdates for people I don't even know what they are!

Seeing that you were born AFTER them and they are HALF brothers and you have not known them for 10+yrs then as far as i am concerned you 'dont know you had/have half brothers' If you get my gist.....

No, CIC won't be verifying their data (as far as I know). This is important to get right IF your siblings will ever be applying for visas to Canada/PR of their own - if they claim a relationship at that time, CIC may cross check with your file.

If you have absolutely no relationship with your half-siblings, just leave them off the application.
