Question regarding adoption

My adopted son was born outside Canada and came to Canada as permanent resident in early 2010. I got him citizenship through the adopted children form. Does this mean the first generation limit applies to him?

Hello Junglee,
I know this is several years later. Im in the same boat. We have an adopted child. We (hub and I) are both Canadian citizens and applied through sponsorship through Citizenship grant versus Immigration process. What type of visa was granted to him upon entry to Canadian soil ? was it TRV? TRP? or PR card?
