Hi,

I have question on work experience. I am on Intra Company transfer to Canada from 2012 Aug onwards. In between I have gone back to India for 2-3 months for work. For initial 12 months of my work in Canada, I was paid an allowance in Canada to cover meals, recreation and all expenses (hotel accommodation, phone bill etc.) were paid as per actuals. I didn't receive pay slips mentioning about this allowance being paid and since allowance was not taxable, I was not required to file any taxes for this duration. I did not claim extra 10 points for this Canada experience in work experience section as I was not sure if I can actually get points without any pay slips, T-4 or Notice of assessment. So in work experience section, I mentioned my location as India for these 12 months when I was paid allowance in Canada as technically I was still a full time employee in India and working temporarily in Canada. Also the system didn't gave me extra 10 points for Canada experience as I mentioned my work location as India.

I recently got the ITA on Dec 23rd.

My question is after receiving ITA, should I keep the location as India in work experience section and provide reference letter from my Indian company to support that. Or should I remove this 12 months work-experience from Work experience section. I have overall 11.5 years of work experience out of which I only claimed points for 3 years of Canadian experience when I was actually getting salary and have Notice of assessments. Rest is international experience.

In personal history section, I am mentioning my location as Canada for those 12 months as I was staying in hotel during that duration.

Pleas help me with this situation.

Thanks,
Ankit
