Hi all,

I hold a Canadian PR and I just moved into the country. I am looking for jobs but at the moment, I am unemployed.
My query was if I can sponsor my souse who holds a work permit and is employed, or if I should wait to get employed to prove I can financially support her.

You can still sponsor her. Put in a financial plan on how you can support both of you before you find a job. Things like savings and your spouse still on a valid work permit with a job can be part of your plan. If you have family that provide housing, then you can put that in too.
Write a letter to explain it.

Thanks @YVR123 . When you say put a financial plan, do you mean I can provide proof of savings which I have as well as provide my wife's employment letter which would state her annual income?

Those are the "supporting proof". You financial plan is a letter written down on how you plan to support you and your spouse.
This is in place of your NOA which most PR who are already settled in Canada would be providing.
