I'm assuming you're a parent who's applying for citizenship at the same time as the child - in that case only 5(2) applies to you. If you use these steps, you should be directed to the correct set of forms. This is the starting point on the IRCC website for all those seeking to apply for citizenship.

Agreed. 5(2) is out of the picture here as parents have applied online. For 5(1) minor, we can apply if the parent is not applying at the same time, but applying at the same time is little bit open for interpretation as the parents have applied online. Now the child application which will be offline and applied say few weeks later will you consider that as applying at the same time or not.

I dont agree with the above comment. The website doesn't imply that. It just means if you want to apply as a family then you need to apply offline. However. the minor's application can be submitted separately using 5(1). Also, the website mentions use online if you can. It does makes sense to apply parents online but its not clear for minor who has to be applied offline then which form to fill. By the way farmoh786 how did you proceed on this?

Hello - Sorry for the late response. I did resubmit the same documents with an explanation letter. I am hoping good as IRCC didn't return back the package this time yet. So currently I am waiting to hear back and I shall post an update once I get update or AOR.

Hi i applied my family application together for me my wife and two minor kids but we got it returned saying wife and kids are already citizen as per their records. we never applied before and completed 1095 days recently. i resubmitted same application again as i dont see any action i can take. may be a mistake from IRCC side.
did anyone have idea about this situation. please let me know. thanks.
