Hi, I hope somebody can help me with this query. On my husband's sponsorship form IMM1344 question 10 states:

Are you a Canadian citizen - no or yes and what date. He is a citizen by naturalization, so no problem there. The next part states Permanent resident - no or yes and what date.

My husband has a landed immigrant stamp in his mother's passport from back in 1970 when he was 3 weeks old and came in with her to be with her husband (and his father) already in Canada. She had gone back to Ireland to have him. The whole family got naturalized in 1980. My question is...do we fill in the date he landed back in 1970 as the permanent resident date? Thanks in advance.

TracyS -

He should say "yes" to naturalized citizen and indicate the day he became naturalized.

He can ignore the permanent resident bit (including the date) since he is now a citizen.

Ahh..thanks so much scylla. I wasn't sure if you were allowed to ignore a yes/no type question. Very much appreciate your time on the answer.
