I'm completing my Express Entry profile and have a question regarding my employment and what would be eligible as a job offer.

I founded and incorporated a company in BC, in August 2013. A few months later, I raised $250,000 from local investors. Now and over a year later, I'm about to close our second financing round and currently employ 3 people (plus myself) full-time.

Considering I own a majority of the business, would an employment offer from (my) company be considered a valid job offer for the Express Entry program?

I'm aware of the Startup Visa program but unfortunately, none of my investors are on the list of designated investors by CIC.

Appreciate any guidance or ideas anyone may be able to share with me.

All of the economic class programs are designed for "classic" employment, e.g. you are hired as an employee. But you are self-employed, even if you've arranged to be an "employee" of the company that you own.

Self-employment is excluded under the eligibility criteria for CEC class, but I don't know whether it would count for Canadian work experience under the Express Entry CRS. If you try it, let us know.

Self-employment is allowed under the FSW program (or at least it used to be). So you would have to meet the requirements of FSW to be eligible under express entry.

I'm pretty sure that an offer to hire yourself does not qualify as "a valid job offer;" but FYI, you would also need an LMIA to get the 600 pts for "arranged employment."
