Pre-Assessed..
Hi everyone,

I have a masters degree from USA and ECA is completed. Should i also get ECA done for bachelors (pursued in India)?

In general you get points for your 'highest' degree completed. In your case it is your 'Masters' degree. Hence no requirement to get ECA for 'Bachelors'.

Bachelors is not required if Masters is assessed as Masters in Canadian System, else would benefit you on CRS Score by getting the Bachelors assessed too by choosing 'Two or more degrees/diploma..' option.

@Rohexpentry: Hey, I'm in a similar situation. There is a thread for U.S. residents on this forum, where people recommended me getting an ECA for my Bachelor's degree as well. My BA is from Russia, and it's a huge pain in the ass to get an apostille for it, especially, when applying from outside the country. I guess I'm going to get ECA for my Masters' only, but let's keep in touch about our progress!

If the ECA for your Master's comes back as equivalent to Canadian Master's you're fine. Otherwise you would need to Assess the Bachelors

@One_Topsy: Thanks! Yet, when I started my WES application, I entered details for both my bachelors and masters. The system is now asking me to submit documents for both - it even has a message that everything on the list is required. Should I try and get in touch with WES and tell them to only evaluate my master's? Will greatly appreciate the response!

There is nothing wrong in getting both assessed at the same time as WES does not charge you based on the number of the degrees assessed.

Right. But to get my Russian diploma evaluated, I need to wait 45 days for the apostille + time for shipping. So I'd much rather not do it, yet WES is asking for it. Any thoughts?

At the end, it is your decision mate.

Are you saying that WES is specifically asking for it? They would have asked for it, since you would have mentioned it also as part of the WES application process.

I did! I guess I shouldn't have? I don't mind getting it evaluated, but timing is my concern. My Masters' is from the U.S., so getting the transcripts sent to Canada is easy as pie. But my undergrad is a huge headache, since I don't live in Russia right now and my parents don't have my power of attorney anymore.
