When I sent my application to Sydney, NS, I received a letter from requesting me to send my updated application with my supported documents within 120 days to Buffalo, NY because I live in New York. The letter had a number on the top that starts with E followed by 9 digits and wit this number I am able to check my application on E-CAS. Now that I have sent all my documents to Buffalo, NY, will they provide me with another number so that I can check my application on line or I will continue to be able to check my application on line with the number I received from Sydney? How does that work?

I do not think that to get the file no. after submitting documents will take that longer. I know some people that their file no. arrived 12 days later and others 3 months later. Hang in there. It will be all over as soon as you open your eyes.
