Dear Qorax,

Would you have any idea where we can get the jewellery valuated in Dubai? I tried to look for someone who can do the valuations for jewellery in dubai but no luck.

As I am aware we need to take photographs of the jewellery along with the receipts and a valuators report that stats the valus of the jewellery right?

Can you please advise if you have any idea?

Kind regards,

Alice.

Yes, u r right. It's good to carry the above while landing at the POE. Let me assure u though that u do not need to carry a 'valuation report' for the jewwllry [except for 'ultra-high value ones' -like 'Diamonds'].

Just carry all the pics [u can group them together like all rings, neclaces, bracelets etc], group them in one A4 sheet print-out each, that will suffice.

And use a B4A Form to mention 'only' jewellries, if they r of considerable qty. For the values, just post the 'market value' as u deem fit. If u have some of the purchase invoices, nothing like it. If u don't -doesn't matter. Then total them up, to arrive at a centralized 'overall figure'.

For high worth ornaments [aka Diamonds], u must carry a valuation report, if u do not have its purchase bill. That could be obtained from your 'local jeweller' like Al Haseena, Damas, Joy Allukas etc. [anyone is Ok].

Qorax,
Good day / AOA

One question which is not related to this topic.
I am having a US dollars account in Pak.
When leaving for CA I have two options
1. To get Demand draft of Canadians dollars.
2. To get Demand draft in US Dollars.
If i get Canadian dollars pay order then bank will change my US dollars to CAD with there rate and what I understand I might get loss and change of currency as baks rate as converted in this manner UD $ to Pak rupees and then to CAD.
Is it possible if i can take Pay order of US dollards and can depositi in CA bank in my CAD account, like this i might reduce my loss in currency exchange.

Most POEs of embarkation might have some sort of restriction "on Cash", however they'd also have some type of processing it's excess movement by way of a "declaration". I wouldn't know about the customs of ur homeland - thus might not be able to answer u correctly. Moreover, DDs & Cashier's Cheques r usually permitted to fly out -- if at all required - the same "declaration" works.

That's not a medical inadmissibility cause. If u select 'yes' - at worst he'd have some additional tests - &/or a 'medical furtherance' (some delays) -- but eventually u'd be let thru.
