Question For PMM or experienced persons regarding the renewal of passport

Dear all my passport was about to expire in jan 2010. So i renewed the passport before i received the passport request. When i submitted the application, i submitted the copies of old passport and also in the medical and all other documents there is number of old passport. Now i received the PPR so i submitted the new passport along with the old passport. Anything additional i need to convey to the immigration office or only the new passport along with the old passport is enough? Please reply me urgently the experienced members. Thanks in advance.

My recommendation whenever something is out of the ordinary, and this applies not just to the CIC or the government but pretty much any person or organization, is to send along a cover letter explaining everything in detail.

That being said, I'm sure they deal with this exact situation all the time and can't see it causing you any problems, but what do I know? I'm no officer so I'm only guessing here.

the only thing you need is to add a cover letter explaining the situation and letting them know about new passport that you sent instead of old one that is about to expire.
