Ok, so I was married in India under the Hindu Marriage Act, I got it stamped and signed by a local registrar who gave us a Schedule "D" as a certificate. This may sound stupid but is this our official marriage certificate or is there another step to be taken before one is issued. I want to make sure we have all the proper documentation before we turn in our application for spouse sponsorship. Any input would be great. I have checked online and on india's govt website but nothing is clear and I am getting confused.

I'm hoping this is valid because this is what I have.... All I did with it after the registrar is take it to a DC in the area and get them to stamp it.

Schedule D with a joint photo of couple is the one that is defined as - Marriage Certificate
