hi everyone. I need clarification to what exactly does AOR2 mean, I have heard that’s the second line in ecas. But does that mean an officer has opened up the file and began background checks? Please respond.

Its formal acknowledgement that your vo has received your file. Sometimes you dont even get one.

Some outland applications may also be finished in Mississauga instead of a visa office. In our case, we got a letter saying that our application would continue to be processed in Mississauga. That was our AOR2.

But what I don’t understand is, it doesn’t mean anything about them actually processing the application? Just an indicator that the VO has received it?

Certain steps need to be completed before Mississauga will send the file to the appropriate Visa Office. Most commonly, PCC, Schedule A, and sometimes the Medicals.

To the vo’s, if your file is collecting dust on a pile somewhere that is in process. I considered it in process when they recieved it. I didnt get an aor2 but ecas was updated.

Does everyone get a VO transfer/processing letter? Or sometimes these are missed too? We haven't heard anything in 73 days

Hi Everyone

I have some doubts, need your suggestion on it (sorry for such a long msg)

1) Wanted to know I am getting married in next month and after that I will apply for PR - Spouse visa (my husband is in Canada since 7 years).
I just shifted to a new city Ahmedabad in may. But I don't have any address proof. I need to take PCC, because it's less than 6 months on my new Address can I get my PCC from my hometown which is in Rajasthan..

2) in one of the form I need to mention my all addresses, which means I need to mention my present address as well. as I mentioned I don't have any address proof for my current address.. firstly wanted to know will I need to give all address proof docs for all my past addresses with my PR file or there is no need to give all this documents?

If yes, so what kind of address proof they accept, as I am gonna stay at my in laws place but I can arrange my appointment letter with Ahmedabad address.

3) in form 5406 I need to give details of my parents and sister. Do I need to give their id proof as well as supporting with my PR file?

If yes, I have one problem in my mother's name her surname in my passport and her passport and other supporting (like adhaar card, pan card etc) is different. So if I will create an affidavit, publications/newspaper ad (as per gov rules) saying that both the surnames is of a same person.. and then we are doing same with adhaar card also. Will they accept affidavit and adhaar card as a proof or only passport copy they accept as a id proof.

If they accept only passport copy then I need to change her surname in her id (and then I have to change my father's passport also) or passport copy with affidavit will work?
