Hello,

I'm a medical student who is participating international research program at a Canadian University. I'm doing a 1 month research project where I'll be studying and learning the basics of investigation, while doing part of a research team.

I've asked the canadian embassy and they told me I would need a Work Permit, because they consider this internship "work" even if it not payed. But when I'm applying online to one, they ask me for lots of supporting documents that do not apply at all to my case, for example....

Employment reference letter (I am not employed)
Letter from current employer (I am not employed)
Employment contract (I do not have an employment contract, because this is not technically work)
Offer of Employment (Same as before)

Not sure if this is the right place but can anyone help me with this?

I'm not sure what to do... Do I really need a Work Permit? I've talked to a greek student that is doing the same thing, and she was told she would not need a work permit or visa.
