Hi all, hope you are enjoying a wonderful Christmas. I had some questions regarding the invitation process for the BC PNP.
I have been looking at the minimum score required for the BC province to issue a nomination, which would then add 600 points to the CRS score and all but guarantee PR. For the recent regular draw on Dec. 8th, 256 invitations were issued and the minimum scores for the skilled/international graduate categories ranged from the mid-to-late 90s.
Even if I meet the minimum score, surely there must be lots more people in the same boat than the number of invitations issued in any category. Among the candidates who meet the minimum score, are the nominees selected randomly? The ones who do not get selected in this month's draw presumably stay in the pool. But if the selection is by a random draw (after meeting the minimum score criterion), isn't it possible that some unlucky applicant does not make it in successive draws even if that person meets the minimum score every time? If this happens long enough then the work permit might expire. What happens then?
These questions might sound very basic but I am just learning about the immigration system in Canada. Your inputs are appreciated.
