Hi All,

I Have A Question About The CRS Lowest Score displayed For Each ITA Draw.

If we have a higher CBS score than the score displayed for each round does it mean that we will receive an ITA for sure?

For example, if the next draw the lowest CRS score is 450 and I have let's say 460, does it mean that I will get an ITA or it is not sure at all?

Thanks all and best of luck

________

If they draw 450, anyone with a score above that gets an invite.

This is not an opinion, this is how fundamentally express entry works.

===
Ministerial Instructions Respecting Invitations to Apply for Permanent Residence Under the Express Entry System (November 2, 2016)
Determination — number of invitations

1. (1) For the purposes of paragraph 10.2(1)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the number of invitations that may be issued during the period beginning on November 2, 2016 and ending on November 3, 2016 is 2,080.
Required rank

(2) Foreign nationals who, on November 2, 2016 at 12:34:57 UTC, have been assigned a total of 472 points or more under the Comprehensive Ranking System that is set out in the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Express Entry System, as published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on December 1, 2014 and as amended from time to time, occupy the rank required to be invited to make an application for permanent residence.

Yes, provided the draw wasn't specific for any given stream (e.g., FSWP, FSTP, CEC, PNP).

Generally, as per the current trend, almost all the draws are 'general draws', hence everyone above the cut-off should get an ITA.

What if for the next draw, we are 1242351234124 people with the CRS score = 471 and let's say that the minimum score is 460 (for example) with only 2k number of invitations issued.

How do they choose between people if we all have the same skill, score etc ?
Do they choose randomly ?

Thanks all

In a specific draw, e.g., one like this:

Only the CEC applicants will get ITAs if their score is equal or higher than the cut-off, while others won't, irrespective of their score.

No dude...

it's saying that 460 or above THERE ARE ONLY 2000 applicants. They don't choose. There aren't that many people in the pool.

The last draw was 473 with 2080 invitations. There were only 2080 applicants with 473 or above that day. Thats all.

Points are not static and they are moving all the time. Every day new candidates will come in using enter the pool with high enough score. Also every day people get PNP or LMIA which will boost their score.
At the same time some EE will expire or the score will jump down because of age, or expired other conditions.

So the draw number is not something given as random number from computer, but it is rather identified according to the free positions they have on hand. (I guess, that they run down some statistic for amount of candidates and dependats for each point range and then they agree where the cutting quota will be at that week). So the more people will hunt for high points the higher the cut off score will be when considering the similar or same amount of applicants in the draw.

Ohhhh I get it now... I thought that for each draw they could send only XXXXX ITA, and for the rest of the people with the score above the minimum score, they had to wait.

Sorry for my ignorance :'( :'( :'( :'(

So look, there's always new people entering and leaving the pool at different points.

Look at the pool as a standard bell curve, with the most top of the curve in the 400-450 range. They take a slice every few weeks. As they get higher up the curve, the slices will become thinner (only dropping a point at a time).

The cut-off for each draw is adjusted according to the number of applicants to be drawn. If there are that much applicants at that particualar score, IRCC won't keep cut-off below that.

Cut-off is simply adjusted to remove the 'top applicants' (with highest scores). Let's say that IRCC decides that they wish to draw 2500 candidates from the pool, they will simply draw the 2500 people with highest CRS from the pool, no matter where the cut-off goes. Hpwever, if there are so many people at any given score, IRCC can adjust the draw size accordingly.

Consider the last draw. The cut-off was 472. Everyone with a score of 472 or higher should have got an ITA. This means there were only 2,080 active candidates in the pool with CRS points 472 or higher.

If IRCC wants to conduct another draw for let's say another 2,000 applicants and let's consider the cut-off slides down to 465, but there are extra 90 people at this score (the draw size becomes 2,090). If IRCC slides the bar a little above, at 468 and the total ITAs become less than 2000, let's say 1,908 (whatever no. less than what IRCC desires to draw), then IRCC will set the cut-off to 465.

"What if for the next draw, we are 1242351234124 people with the CRS score = 471 and let's say that the minimum score is 460 (for example) with only 2k number of invitations issued."
If there are 1242351234124 people with the CRS score = 471, and if the draw is for 2k, the cut-off would never be 460. The cut-off in this case would be for 'top 2k active profiles' in the pool.

Right. Thats why the number is always so odd. Eg. 2080, 1804 and not rounded off. They compute the number of applicants in the EE pool above the cut off and then send invites to exactly those many people.
