hello everyone. This is my first post so forgive me if I break any rules.

On my birth certificate from my home country, I have my full name "XXNameXX MiddleName LastName" but in my passport and all my other document since I have grown up (school transcripts, report cards, T4s, Work, Diploma, study permits, work permits, everything) it says "Name LastName". for example my birth certificate shows "jojohnson Jason capps" then my passport and other docs show "johns capps".

Can anyone please advice me if they think this will be a problem? has anyone else here been in same or similar position? what would you all advice I do?
I have 2 police clearances from my home country 1 for each name, as well as a clearance from here for both names, one listed as alias.

Please advice if you can, and thank you in advance.

You will put John Capps (as that's the name in your Passport, work permits). You may also need to submit documents of your name change (if you have any). Otherwise your birth certificate may not be considered as your birth certificate... My suggestion would be to get proper way of name change in your home country (Notary Public has a certain procedure.. that you can follow) and submit them. This is the best thing to do. Your other alternative is to submit a explanation letter saying what you just told us here. Not sure legally how much that will be acceptable, but if the officer is satisfied, you are good.

Same here! My birth certificate has middle name (1st, middle, and last name) but my passport has my first name and surname (last name). Since I received AOR and in many official programmes have considered both my passport and birth certificate as valid documents, so I guess it shouldn’t be a problem.
I don’t know about your PCC thing, may be experienced people can say something about it!!

Orko, Boven, Thank you both so much for your responses, they were very clear and to concise. I think I will try to write an explanation letter (not sure what format that should take our how it should even look/begin but I'm sure I can find something out there).

once again, many thanks.

Please keep an explanation letter clearly stating why the names differ between documents and also clearly mention which name should the officer consider for the PR. I had similar situation where in by last name's spelling differed between the passport and birth certificate. I sent my forms with an explanation letter and I got my AOR.
