Hi ,
I completed from humber college in January 2016 and I had a hold on my account due to outstanding fees on my last semester so humber didn't not release confirmation of graduation for me to apply for PGWP. I had financial problem at that time. My fee just got paid after 1 year and humber just released my confirmation . My study permit n open work permit is still valid till May 2018. Any advise on how to change my status , or get a letter from the school to apply for PGWP or extend my open work permit ? Please advise

It's too late to apply for a PGWP. You must apply for the PGWP within 90 days of completing your program.

On what basis do you have an open work permit?

When I applied for off campus work permit I was so lucky I was given open work permit expiring 1 year beyond my study period. Even though I completed a year ago my work permit is still valid.

Yeah - I'm not sure that's still valid. You can only work while in school full time.

There's no way to extend your open work permit and you don't qualify for a PGWP. It's also possible you're in Canada now without status.

If you want to stay in Canada and work, you need to find an employer who is willing to give you a job offer and can also get an approved LMIA.

I have an employer who is submitting LMIA for me but also considering that my status as a student expires soon.

There is a section n CIC websites that's says students who have not applied for a subsequent work permit after after graduation because they didn't receive the confirmation of graduation after the 90 days expiring, they should apply to change their status ( for instance to visitor status) or leave Canada. Can this be an option for me to maintain my status?

Your status as a student expired 90 days after you finished your program. As far as I know, you were not allowed to continue working on your off-campus work permit after you finished your studies, which would mean you have been working illegally since then.

There are 2 conditions on the work permit

1. Must leave Canada by April 30 2018
2. Unless Authorized prohibited from attending any educational institution.

I had a study permit separately, so in principle I had the authorization to work.

Can I apply to change my condition to something else?

I don't understand how you got 2 separate visas as the work permit clearly states you cannot study. (which you did)
