Question about Passport submission - Online Application India

Hi everyone,

My friend applied recently for Visitor visa online and got an email asking to submit Passport to Visa application center, which will be done today through VFS india - Bangalore.

I just wanted to know how long does it usually take to receive the passport back from them? Does it mean the Visitor Visa application has been approved, that is why they are asking for the passport?


I am not familiar with this process, any input will be helpful.

In most cases yes, the visa has been approved and provided there are no inconsistencies in the passport, it should be stamped. But there have been a few cases of refusal after requesting the passport too.

It usually takes a couple of days to a week to get the passport back.
