Hey everyone,

I am currently applying OUTLAND through my common-law partner. We chose this route as I currently have a work permit through my employer and i would like to be able to travel back home when needed. We currently live in Canada together and have for the duration of our common-law relationship.

My question is in regards to application form IMM1334E - Application to Sponsor...
For question 6a) Relationship to Principal Applicant, do I put:
- "Common-law partner living inside Canada" OR
- "Common-law partner living outside of Canada"?

Can I put "living IN Canada" and just post the whole application to the OUTLAND processing centre? Or if I put "living IN Canada" will they process my application an INLAND?

Many thanks for your help!

You must select: Common-law partner living outside of Canada

If you select the other option, you'll be going the inland route.

Hi Scylla

I am posting my app today... I had previously read that we should select living inside canada even if going the outland route as the route is decided by question 4 of the checklist? Is that wrong?

I am in Canada, so is my sponsor. We want to apply outland.

VERY helpful - thank you!

So, if I indicate outland via the checklist (as indicated in the thread you posted), can I still put that I am living IN Canada for the IMM 1344 Q6 application? (which is the truth - I am living in Canada!). Even though I tick the correct class of application on checklist, I would hate for my application to go inland based on the answer to this question!

Thank you!

What Hurlabrick posted is as i thought and had read that previously (a million times!).. You specify inland or outland on the checklist, not the forms themselves.

For me i am applying outland Family Class and i am in Canada..so am checking the third box on the checlist. On IMM1344 we have put the relationship to applicant is common law partner in Canada.

Inland or Outland is determined by the box you check on the checklist.
