Hello, I am a citizen of a Quebec and was hoping someone could explain this to me:
I met my boyfriend online over 6 years ago and he came to study here on a student visa (which lasts for 4 years). We've been together since his entry and his student visa is set to expire later this year when he graduates with his degree. We want to get married before that occurs and file for permanent residency.
If we get married within the new month or so and file inland what will his status be if we do not get a response by the time his student visa expires?
Would we need to apply for a temporary resident status now before his student visa expires instead?
If not does this apply?
Meaning he will auto get temporary residency while it processes?
Lastly on the form from CIC:
IMM5443E
Does that mean I do not submit anything for income or is there some other Quebec based form I need to look at?
Thank you for your help!

"Under the policy, if a person who is in Canada illegally happens to meet and fall in love with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada of the same or opposite sex, and the couple then either live together for one year or get married, that person no longer needs to apply for permanent residence on the basis of humanitarian and compassionate grounds."

Proof of income for sponor (this section applies only to sponsors who are not residents of quebec)
