After you reach the full year of living together you are considered common-law.
Well I was wondering, since I will be applying through common-law. How long are you allowed to live apart from each other before being considered not common law any more?
Like since it might take us a few months to get the application together and then about a month to hear news on the approval, then another 3-9 months for final processing.
So like for all these people that are going through the processing via the common-law route, are they allowed to live apart for a year and still be considered common-law?
I just don't want to break any laws about common law relationships and have to recount the year of living together if we don't get approved.
I know it says the common-law relationship is broken if you have lived a year apart from each other and are with another partner. Well does the same apply if you don't have another partner in the process of living a year apart from each other?
Sorry about another thread but I could use this to be answered as well so it is one less thing on my mind. Thanks!
