I've just applied for EI, my last job was a cook and I was laid off because my restaurant closed.

My question is: Do I need to keep looking for cook jobs to be eligible? I don't want to work in this field anymore and I would like to look for jobs in a developer or marketing field (I have two post-graduation certificate) and a marketing bachelor (from my country).

If these qualifications are not enough to look for jobs in this field, can I look for a server job instead?

I have a work visa at the moment (PGWP).

Thanks in advance.

You have an open work permit. You can look for whatever job you want.
