Can i apply for an internship in my field without having a co op associated in my course?
I'm planning to do some summer internship to do gain some valuable experience is that possible?
on a student visa

yes u can do it but u wont get course credits for it....meaning when coop is part of ur program u get credits for it meaning u take less subjects/courses. so without coop course it will be just like summer job which u can add to ur resume. If u get an internship u should do it even if it is not part of ur curriculum . just remember u have work restrictions though and u can only work for 20 hrs during regular sem and full time in holidays. i am assuming here that either u have work permit/work authorization or ur study permit allows u to work .

In the new visa rule my study permit automatically grants me the chance to work right? would that be enough for me to be able to work as internship in my related field of study?

As I have no experience this would look great on my resume

yes if ur study permit allows u to work and u get a SIN then u should be ok. Have u already found an internship?

well not really just a question that was bugging me for a while cause I cant find a co op program for January
Im not even accepted at a university yet :(
