Hope everyone is enjoying a good day.

I just received my wife's package to my Canadian address. Hopefully, will go through her papers by this weekend and have my paperwork all packed. And hopefully, our application will be out to CIC next week!

Currently, my wife is on unpaid personal leave taking care of her elders at home. For the answer to question 8 on the "Background declaration form" she mentioned that she is still working with her company, but currently on unpaid leave and taking care of elders.

Once we get the file number for her PR application, I plan to give a try for her visit visa as well. My wife has plans to quit her job completely (not fully confirmed yet) by the time we apply visit visa.

My question is: If my wife quits her job completely by the time we apply for visit visa (which we would mention of course in her visit visa application), is it necessary to update her PR application then by informing CIC that she has quit her job?

Thank you.

no need.
if she would have different address, then she need to change it on CIC.

That's correct. There is no need to update the PR application with change in your wife's job status.
Although if your wife would be applying for visit visa, it would be better if she continues with her job until at least her visit visa is processed. If you could show that she will be resuming her job at the end of her trip, it should work in favor of getting the tourist visa. Having a job is a strong tie with the home country and adds as a proof that she will be returning back at the end of her trip.
