Hi,
My wife is currently on H1B working in the US. I am on a H4 visa. I plan to move in the next few months once I get ITA and submit docs. The EE score estimator puts me at 482 points, so I will definitely get an invite. I have indicated on the application that my wife will be accompanying me.

I have a few questions.

1) If my wife decides to continue working in the US on H1B and not accompany me, will she get her PR card?
Note: I will be moving regardless.

2) If the answer is no, is there a way to get the PR card by staying in Canada for a short period of time (ex. a week that she can take off work)

Any suggestions welcome

1. They will issue the card for the persons whoever completes the initial landing formalities before visa expires.
2. Doesnt matter how long (minutes/hours/days) one should stay but as long as one lands before visa expires he/she will be issued a card(most of the time). Sometimes border doesnt accept someone else's address and in that case you/she can apply after returning back to Canada at later time.

For both your questions, I dont see any problem. You will have to look out to see how you will maintain your PR while staying abroad. Attached is a youtube video that talks about Express Entry.

After you complete your initial short landing, you and your wife (separately) have 3 years to make the actual permanent move to Canada or otherwise your PR will be lost.

I am planning to move to Canada in future.
Is there any extra points or Benefit for the H1b holders or ll have to go with the Express Entry Process.

No extra points and no benefits.

You can apply through Express Entry and/or also look into the PNP programs.
