Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi guys,

I recently sponsored my spouse and got an email from Mississauga telling me that my sponsorship was approved and that the file has now been sent to Buffalo, NY. My question is the following:

Is the file number (starting with F) that was written on my sponsorship approval email the same as the file number my spouse will get?

The reason I ask is that we did not send the FBI clearance letter to Mississauga when we sent the application, given that the FBI had major delays and my spouse just now received the clearance letter. Instead of waiting for them to tell us to send it we'd like to send it now to Buffalo, but we want to make sure that the file number won't change so that they can match the FBI letter to my spouse's file.

If any one of you could check whether the sponsorship approval application file number was/is the same as the actual application file number of the file, I would greatly appreciate it :)

So do you think it is safe to send the FBI already with the file number? Should we write the file number on the envelope as well?

The UCI number is for the sponsor and the File number is for the Permanent Residence... quote both numbers for any correspondance... when logging into to e-cas, use the UCI number with the sponsor's birthdate and other info... and you can do a seperate login with file number using primary applicant;s birthdate and info....

Should we write the file/application number on the envelope along with "missing documentation enclosed" when sending the FBI report to Buffalo?

Yes, and make a copy of it before you do so.
