Guys.
i was wondering if I could travel to Canada to see my wife for a week, from a visa-exempt country, while our Family Sponsorship application is currently being processed by a visa office in my country, if:
From 14 to 19 years of age, I lived in Canada with my parents, during which all of us stayed without status and then applied based on Humanitarian & Compassionate grounds. Long and confusing story. The application was rejected and then we received Exclusion Orders for a year. It expired almost 10 months ago. I finished High School there etc. After coming back, I sent an application for ARC, temporary residence, hoping that we could get married in Canada, in the presence of our close friends etc. It was a bad idea.
We visited each other many times afterwards and then got married on one of those visits. The application was sent in April and it's currently being reviewed by a visa office in my country. So far no requests.
I know that it's possible to go to Canada if you have a PR application in progress. But I have a bad immigration history. As a minor, I had no choice but to be with my parents and overstay in Canada. Do you think there is any chance I could apply for an ETA and then come to Canada just for a week? Or would it just be pointless? Maybe it would even hurt my current PR application? I know I'm not in the best situation, but wouldn't having a PR application in progress help a tiny bit? I could prove good ties to my country, although it's confusing because my wife is there, so they would probably be skeptical.
Thanks for any suggestions.
