Quick question, how important is providing the supporting documents as shown in the https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/mycic page? They make it seem "optional" and we have already submitted the docs with our original package.
The following documents were submitted or have been requested to support your application.
You can only provide new versions of previously submitted documents if we request it.
If you do not send the requested document by the deadline, the status will change to "Overdue" and you will not be able to submit the document. We will review your application without the requested document.
Steps to get to this page
1. Open up your account https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/mycic
2. Click on Check status and message
3. Scroll to the bottom and click View Submitted Application
4. Under instructions, it will read, "If you would like to provide more information about your application that you have not already provided, you can attach a letter of explanation to your application."
The deadline has already passed. We have numerous letters of explanation to support our application. Unclear why they are requesting this.
