Hey all,

I'm Canadian by birth, living in Canada, sponsoring my American husband living in America (well, he's not my husband YET. We're getting legally married during this visit).

I'm going to drive to him soon, do you think it will be a problem if I bring the forms with me in my car (he needs to sign papers, etc)? If a border control officer sees my forms, what could happen? Will it be a problem? Can I tell them honestly that we're in the process of spousal sponsorship?

Can I do this? It's just so much more convenient than mailing them.

Thanks guys.

Going north or south with Canadian paperwork won't cause a problem, it's if he "moves" here before being processed that could cause a problem. Someone with more knowledge might chime in with more detail than I can give.

I crossed the border with some of the forms before and so has my husband, it wasn't a problem. And when we crossed together in the same vehicle they asked if we had decided who was moving where and if we had started the process. That was all!

Okay great, thanks guys!
