Hi all,
I've been following this forum for a few months, and soon my sweetie and I will be able to send our applications if all goes well. I am Canadian, living in Toronto, and he is an American currently living in the States. Our wedding is in just 7 days from now... and it's in the States. This means I will need to cross the US border at the airport with my wedding dress on my back and show that I have no intention of staying in America.
To prepare for this, I've gotten:
- proof of employment
- my return flight to Toronto
However, I am living with my parents to save money until my future husband moves over, so I can't provide a lease or rental agreement for a home. I'm thinking showing the proof of payment for the sponsorship application could bolster my proof that our intention is to have him move here.
Will it matter if our application fees are paid before the wedding? He's also already requested his FBI check and done the medical. Has anyone experienced any problems with doing it this way? We're very eager beavers and don't want to encounter problems with the sponsorship or at the border.
