Hello, I have a couple questions in regards of my common law sponsorship application and my visitor status, I'll try to explain everything as brief as possible so apologies in advance.

I arrived in Canada and moved in with my girlfriend back in October 2019 and we started to live in a common law relationship. We had to wait 12 months for us to send the application for a sponsorship and because i was only able to stay 6months at a time i sent my request to extend my stay in April 2020. Now because of the current ongoing pandemic i understand all the processes got delayed by quite a bit and i understand that, my extension request was still being processed by the time Oct 2020 came and we started our common law sponsorhip application.

Fast forward to today i just received approval to extend my star until Feb 2021, but our common law sponsorship application its still in process, i was told it would take as long as 18 months due to COVID-19 delays. My question is, do I need to request another extension to my visitor status or am I allowed to stay while the common law application gets fully process

Thanks so much in advance, i am a little bit confused about this.

How did you apply for PR? Inland or outland? If inland, did you include an OWP?

I lived in canada for 24 years, my 2 children still live there, i am from the UK and came back to the uk 5 years ago as my mother went into a nursing home. She passed away feb 2020, my pr card has expired and i am looking at moving back to Canada to be with my children. My son has been ill and was hospitalised with an undiagnosed illness, He is out now but still not back to normal health, i am now applying for my prtd to go back so that i can reapply for my permanent residence status. Do you think with my circumstances that they will reinstate my residency?

Hi there!

we are in the same page. But i havent apply for common law because i will be 1 year on march. But my question is, did you apply even if you’re an implied status? Or you apply that you have a valid visa?
I extend for the second time but havent heard from them. So im on an implied status.
another question is can i apply PR even if im implied status? Or i hve to wait till IRCC reply to me and send my application?did you hire an immigration lawyer? Thank you so much and i appreciate your answer.
