Will the university/college be responsible for providing you the co op
or do you have to look for it yourself?

You have to look for it yourself.

well with coop option u get credit for any internship u do that way u reduce ur course load and get valuable experience .

If you are a coop student, you still have to look for the job. In my university, coop office does its best to help you get a job but it is still your responsibility.

Also, if you are a coop student and you find a job, coop office supervises the whole work term. You usually need to write reports/ make presentations after your work term finishes.
