Hi everyone! My question isn't so much about international students... sorry
I didn't know where else to ask this.
I am American and applying to a US online university to complete my degree. My husband is Canadian and he works. We live in Canada. I don't work - I am waiting on my PR status.
When I apply for financial aid, do I need to disclose my husband's income even though it's not reported to the USA? I'm worried it will complicate things because I will claim I have income (through him) but will not have any tax documents in the USA to prove this. (We haven't been married long enough for me to file taxes in the USA yet claiming to be married.)
As far as the USA knows, I am still single.
