Hi! I was asked to send a PCC from another country (I am at the background check portion). I sent it in last month (11th december - the day after I was asked to submit it), but I was given until Feb 6th to submit it. I am curious about one thing: Do they usually start processing the submitted documents, only after the deadline they have given (Feb 6th in my case). Thank you! I would appreciate anyone sharing their similar experience.

Nobody really knows for sure..and it could vary from VO to VO.

But a common theory is that they put a "revisit" date on your application once they have requested something. They then go back to it on that date or shortly after...rather than them jumping right back on it when what they requested is submitted.

They put a Bring Forward Date on the application. They will not look at the application until that Bring Forward Date.

Bring Forward!!

I literally spent 5 minutes trying to think of that term..then gave up and went with something that got my point across!

That's very helpful

Just because it's due Feb 6 does not mean you'll hear from then on that day FYI, so don't worry if you don't

Thanks. Yeah I have seen that happen with my earlier documents, but I appreciate you clarifying.

I was hoping to hear back earlier but I think I'll just have to wait on this.

1. You are wrong, if a document arrives before the BF date, the file is then brought out to the officer when the document is placed on the file.

Every GCMS notes I have seen indicate that this is not the case and officers look at file at the BFD, but that's good news if they sometimes look at it earlier. Additionally, just because it's given to the officer certainly does not guarantee they are looking at it. On top of that, OP expected to hear back by Feb 6 when the document is due. Even if they look at the file on or before Feb 6 it does not mean the visa office will contact you or reach out. I was never contacted at any point when my documents had been received after being requested. Point is, don't let Feb 6 come and go and find yourself extremely stressed that they haven't made contact.
