Question about background checks!!

hello All!, just a little background before asking. I came to Canada in 2006 with 6 months WP but only stayed 2, came back in 2007 with another 6months WP but again stayed just 2, both were for an onsite assignment when working with a different company, Came back in Jan/2008 to take on an job offer for a local company now I've been in Canada with a valid WP since then. Applied and I was PNP nominated in 2009, submitted WP application and approved by Feb/2010 for a 2 year valid WP, in march they received my PR application and I received AOR in July 10 stating they started my process in June/22nd 2010 plus medical request. Medical done for all 4 of us in family in July/20th but cardio check requested for my oldest and myself due to inocent heart murmur which were fine, wait for our appointments and finished in sept/29. Received IA letter in Oct/29 but letter was dated OCt/20th, no additional documents required, no interview. sent the RPRF draft in Dec/17th but received in Buffalo in Dec/21st.

Now my question. I sent a Specific Case inquiery last week, they said they have requested background checks to other government office(s). Does this mean Locally in Canada or that also means in my home Country?.. Note that I sent my home country police clearances when I submitted my PR application in March/2010. That means my PR is approved but just checking my history?. What does it inlcude and how long will it take? Thanks in advance for your answers
