Hi all,

I know that for those from TRV exempt countries, they can apply for work permit at
the port of entry with a positive LMO. I am currently residing in Canada and comes from
a country that requires a TRV to enter Canada. However, my multiple entry TRV is
still valid. In this situation, if my new employer gets me a positive LMO, can I first go
to US by land and apply for work permit on my way back at port of entry?

Thanks,
Si

Yes you can flagpole at the US border if you still have a valid work or study permit, because you are technically "exempted from a TR Visa" when you return to Canada after a visit to the US or St-Pierre-et-Miquelon while holding a valid work or study permit

Thanks! By the way, if I submitted my PR application before flagpoling, will it cause any trouble to me?

No, in contrary, showing proof that you have a PR application in progress will facilitate obtaining a work permit renewal

Thanks, dude! That's awesome news for me! I will update after I get positive LMO and new work permit.
