As I see from different posts here, as soon as the status goes In Process for applicants of London VO, most applicants are asked for either updated PCC, updated IM0008, or both. Please answer my following queries:-

1. Why some applicants are asked for either updated PCC or IM0008 and some applicants for both ? Why is the difference ?
2. Does background/security check commences after receipt of updated PCC or IM0008 by VO?

Hi!

It varies from case to case. Updated PCC is asked if it has been long since you applied and updated IMM0008 is asked if there are some new changes in your application since you applied like child's birth, change of address, change of job etc.

Normally back gorund checks are done before issuance of medicals when your case goes in process and security checks are done after issuance of medicals before passport request.
