Hi everyone,

I have a question:

When you apply for a work permit along with the spousal sponsorship in an inland application . Do they update the ECAS with both the applications
or just the sponsorship application.

My lawyer filed the work permit application with my file but when i call cic they say they are unable to see any work permit application.
while my lawyer he gave me the receipt of the work permit application as well and said they will send the work permit along with the first approval.

But the problem now is when i call cic they are not able to see my work permit. Is it normal?

The call center does not have access to this because it is not in the system yet. That's why they can't see it.
And it will not show up in the ECAS at all. Just the sponsorship and PR application

They will only put it in the system when your first phase is approved and then process it at the same time.

That is why when people have forget to include the OWP application with the application they have to wait for the first stage approval before sending it otherwise it will get denied because there is nothing to compare it against. (So it's like they go side by side.)

Don't worry and don't think too much.

If you sent it all together you should be fine. You will recieve the OWP shortly after receiving the AIP. (Approval in principle.)
