Hello guys! My name is Umer farooq and i am about to complete my B.E electrical engg from NEDUET. My aggregate percentage is 75 with more thn 80 percent marks in both my intermediate and matriculation!
I wana ask what are my chances for the following M.ENG programs.
1.University of alberta ( engineering management, electrical)
2.University of calgary (electrical)
3.University of saskatchewan(electrical)
4.Dalhousie University( industrial management, electrical)

Kindly help me out .m way too confused where to apply..
thanx

It's hard to say because acceptance is determined by several factors, your average being just a part of the whole. The best way to find out is to contact potential instructors and see if you qualify for their research projects. Then, they can make the case for you from within...

Admission evaluation criteria includes your SOP, LORs, academic percentages etc. I think you will have a fair chance of admission with this percentage.

thanx for the reply guys!

My first preference is engineering management but since m graduating i dont have any work experience..would that be ok?
secondly out of the universities i mentioned where i have the maximum chance?i would appreciate if any1 from these universities can share thr views!

Can any 1 please let me know that if i opt course bAsed masters which i think M.Engg is and not research based i.e. M.Asc then do i really require some professor for his guidance to get myself enrolled ???

PlEase suggest i want to pursue Masters (course based) in IT related stream from these universities but as I have done B.Tech in electronics with 74 % so can I consider my admission ???please not I have work exp in IT for more than 2 years.

Sugest any good IT courses from these univ if any can one can help.

i have done elec engg from uet and applied to both uni of alberta and sas. in meng but unable to secure admission. i have 76% in bsc and more than 85% in both matric and fsc.

As the reputation of university decreases, the competition will decrease and hence your chances will increase, provided you meet the eligibilty criteria.

I got admission in UofA with 91% in BS Engineering and aroudn 85percent in Matric and Intermediate.

inam bhai..with my profile..what do u suggest?where should i apply

Apply to at least 2 universities. One in top rank like UofA/UofC and one from medium/lower rank like UofS/Dalhouise.

yr i would suggest u that apply in at least 2,3 universities specially apply to those universities which requires pre qualification form like uni of Saskatchewan. for this there is no application fee and if they think u r eligible then they will ask u to apply with documents and application fee.

also regarding u of alberta do not apply in there MEng prog they will not accept any international student in that try to find some supervisor and apply for msc. this also has an advantage that u will have funding

Wahab7

Thax for replying. Could u please respond to my above mentioned query as well ??

Other thing is are you sure that alberta does nt take international students for M.Engg as i was planing to apply there and m.sc which u said will be research based which i dont want

Please confirm

you do not need any supervisor for course based prog i.e meng
please see the eligibility criterias of all the courses for which u will apply. also chose that courses which r related to ur field other it will affect for visa. visa officers rejects cases of course mismatch

as competition in u of A is very high. so that's why they r not accepting international students in meng prog. i know 7 guys from PAK who applied to meng in the same course with exceptional grades (no one has less than 80% in bsc). but they all were rejected
