Hello,

I have been accepted into UOIT in MASc for Sept 2018.
Also, I have applied for PhD in Polytechnique Montreal for Jan 2019 (I already have an MTech). They'll tell the outcome by early August which will be too late to apply for student visa for UOIT in case of refusal from Montreal.

So I am thinking of doing this:
Deposit first semester fees at UOIT, apply for student visa and land in Canada in August (if approved). I'll also have Polytechnique Montreal results before going.
If accepted there, I plan to apply for CAQ before leaving.
After landing I'll plan to withdraw from UOIT, get the refund (hope that is easy!!) and change DLI on IRCC to Polytechnique.
Then stay with my friend in Toronto till December and then move to Montreal with CAQ and study permit.

Please advise, is this okay or not. What precautions should I take?
Thanks

Others can comment but suggest if you have not already that you check UOIT refund policies given dropping one institution because you want to go another might not qualify for a full refund.

Thanks. I'll check. Seems like I have to tell them other reason for dropping out.
