Hello all.

I have 2 questions hopefully someone can answer for me.

Question 1.

My common law partner (defacto) of 15 years have been living and working in Australia.

She is a citizen of Canada and has moved back to Canada for work (we are still very much a couple). Is this going to effect my family class sponsorship application.

Also, the total period to assess my application is 18 months 14 being for my assessment and 64 days for her assessment.
At the time we submitted the application both our residential addresses were in Australia. She has moved back to Edmonton AB in the last week of March 2015 However this new address does not appear on the application. Will this affect the application.

Question 2.

Once we receive conformation that the application is in the process of being assessed for example We expect would be receiving the final outcome in 4 months time would me going over to Canada as a visitor to stay with her also affect the application?

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks,
Dave

1) Yes, one of the big factors in the sponsor approval step is residency or intent to reside in Canada.
2) I assume you mean 14 months. A TRV application will not affect your PR application.

PS 14 months + 62 days = 16 months, not 18 months.

1. Her return to Canada will not affect the app in a negative way. She needs to let CIC know that she is back in Canada now.

2. No, coming to Canada as a visitor will not affect the application. Update CIC when you come so that they send your COPR to you in Canada instead of to your Australian address.

Great, thanks.
