i did apply for concordia n carleton univs..got rejected..n instead of going to low univs i chose colleges in toronto..even there i m eligible hardly for 5,6 colleges.
Eg: applied for centennial n got a reject saying more than 5 yrs educational gap..so now i m waiting for humber admit (wireless)..n hav a Project Management admit from durham...

all of these are SPP colleges..as i just hav 1 shot at visa filing, considering the time limit..i m choosing Humber admit under general..is that my best option ? only for

You can't apply to Humber under general category as Humber is listed as an SPP college. So you got to follow the rules related to SPP colleges in order to get visa.

is that so too ? that I cant directly apply under General for SPP colleges ?
i applied to GBC and congestoga..n waiting for their replies..means even for them , i shud apply under SPP ? the only option may be i shud go for is then Project management in Durham , for the visa sake?

Even with an SPP admit , do I have to apply in General category for visa ? As in the SPP visa category the 5 yrs education gap rule applies..but with an SPP admit, it clearly looks to the VO that we skipped SPP and applied in General only to get the visa..that shall give a wrong impression..

Even I was admitted under SPP but since pre-medical was mandatory and I didnt get an appointment with the doctor for another 15-20 days, applied under general and got visa. I dont think there is any 5 yr gap rule under SPP. Else the college does not give an admit at all.

No. No need to give an explanation. I heard that it is up to to us to choose the visa category. Anyways, take an opinion from seniors.
But we should definitely defend the program we are getting into and show some strong financial base. .

I didnt read this anywhere but as I said, I heard this from my consultant. I was also very tensed up until I got my visa.. They told me that if for any reason we cannot file under SPP, we will automatically fall in the general category. I dont know if they too read this anywhere or simply told me. If you get any authentic info about this, kindly share in this forum. It will be helpful to everyone.

lol u can apply in any category like SPP or general however it is recommended for the first time to apply under SPP.....u can only apply one time under SPP . Under SPP u attach less documentation and in general u will need more documentation.

with 8 yrs exp ,GMAT score n no gaps...the chances of visa are positive..it is totally justified to do MBA with that exp..

Yes.. Please go ahead after assessing your own situation. Wich can b very unique as compared to others. here the objective should be to make ur case as strong as possible. So stay away from flukes or such success stories where things worked out just fine even where there was something that cud have gone against u..

U wudnt wana do that..

Positivity is nice as long as u have explanations for so called flaws in ur case.
All the best..!!

yeah true..even in general i will need a very strong SOP ...forget abot the visa category..i m even taking up a course that i m nt interested only to bypass the visa, once done with visa i shall change it..

I have taken a GIC, because i had some issues while applying for loan..

So , I am applying for lambton college in General, with a GIC..is it good ?

Like said before, my graduation was in 2007, ..this is the main reason I am applying under General as I can give more financial evidence and documents and SOP under general..but wont the VO get a doubt as in why i am skiping SPP, n directly applying under General ?

And can we apply for the 1st time directly in general ?
