Query on Full-Time Job with Work Permit

I am offered a Full-Time job from a Canadian employer. I wanted to know the visa procedure as they expect me to join in 2-3months time.

My query is can we apply for a work permit with a Full-Time job and then apply for Permanent Residence visa.

Also, what is the procedure to bring my family alongwith me.
