Hello All,

This is my first post here and couldn't exactly find this query in search so started a new topic.

We have got nominated by Saskatchewan (in Oct-2016) and now in process of getting Visa and all.
My query is that I heard my consultant telling me that we have to stay for minimum of 2 years as obligation in Saskatchewan (because they nominated us).

But what if i don't get a job in Saskatchewan and I opt to move to some other province (say after 3 months) for the job and even get hired there. Will Saskatchewan authorities create any issue about this when I will apply for citizenship later on?

I am just asking for information and I would certainly try to fulfill the 2 years obligation in order to keep my all records clean and clear.

Hi,
as a permanent residence of Canada you have a right to free movement across country. There is a topic about that on this forum, but I am not able to post a link :(

Please read the following provisions of Canadian Constitution.
Mobility of citizens
6. (1) Every citizen of Canada has the right to enter, remain in and leave Canada.
Rights to move and gain livelihood (2) Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right

a) to move to and take up residence in any province; and
b) to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.
Limitation (3) The rights specified in subsection (2) are subject to

a) any laws or practices of general application in force in a province other than those that discriminate among persons primarily on the basis of province of present or previous residence; and
b) any laws providing for reasonable residency requirements as a qualification for the receipt of publicly provided social services.
Affirmative action programs (4) Subsections (2) and (3) do not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration in a province of conditions of individuals in that province who are socially or economically disadvantaged if the rate of employment in that province is below the rate of employment in Canada.

As mentioned, PRs have free movement rights so after you land as PR you can move wherever you want.

Provinces on their own have no power to revoke PR status. If they could somehow prove that you had no intention at all to reside there (so lied on your PNP application) they could potentially accuse you of misrepresentation which could lead to problems. However "intent" at time of app is very difficult to prove so they would need lots of evidence that you didn't just change your mind after landing as PR which is entirely your right to do.
