The pr card is valid for 5 years, so you can leave and return within those 5 years. Keep in mind, you're delaying your citizenship.

The only issue is you won't be active in the country (i.e. no tax return)...not sure if they will question your intentions to work and live in Canada.

Also, I forgot to add that your passport will have the visa stamp...so leaving Canada with the same passport and no pr may be suspicious

6 monthes to get the PR card and to whom who wants to say anything

Have they at least started the background check? I think they mean security check....since the background check should have been done by Quebec before the csq.

Yes they did, this is why I was told that the expectation to hear something won't be a long time.

if you are gonna expect it tomorrow to ease it on you today, tomorrow will come and be tougher,
the fact of waiting for it, makes it more difficult day after day, just predict the maximum time frame 8 months, and plan your life in lebanon till then..

The mp's office received an update from CIC and they have said the background check is not completed yet. Another agency is doing that so it is difficult to give a precise timeline though the "expectation is not a long time".

Is it 3rd party agency ?

Is it 3rd party agency ?

The CSIS, interpol and other agencies take care of this matter but they don't coordinate with cic all the time, they only provide them with the results at the end of the security check. Keep in mind that the security check is not done individually, it's done for family members too even if they're not accompanying you, which takes even more time.
As for the background check, it's done directly between cic and the employers and the educational institutions...
