I have a quick question and I wonder if anyone can shed some light on it.when we signed the contrat relatif we stated an amount that we'll be taking with us once we land. Can this amount be shown in a statement from a bank in Canada?

Have they ever asked your for a bank statement? They didn't ask us...

I think there's a mistake. U should issue a certified cheque to the receiver general for Canada and send it with the docs to Bucharest. I think it's 490cad for each person, no idea about the child...

I remember signing le contrat relatif a la capacite... where I mentioned how much I will be taking with me. I already have a bank account in Canada so I need to know if I can show them statements rather than taking cash or cheques... Any idea?

I wouldn't declare that you already have money in Canada in a bank account. They will think you are trying to avoid declariing and paying taxes. Do you think they will have access to how much you wrote on the form?

The problem is if I take less than 10,000$ I'm fine but more than this i'll be stuck with the tax and the Q&A. The best thing is to take 9999$ and transfer the rest :D

Any amount more than 10,000$ you have to pay tax but just to let u know, during your first landing you're allowed to take anythinggggg you want, even your car, your furniture..... You can ship them and you're allowed to, only at the first entry to canada

I read that too. Do you know how it works? We pay for shipping in Beirut and we get reimbursed in Canada? I read it takes months before receiving the stuff.

Hi
I just received an e mail noting that my file was transferred to Romania
My file was received by Damas VO since Sept 2010. than it was transferred to Beirut feb 2012.
I got an EP***** number but i don't know how to use it to login to E-CAS

In the mail they told me that i should send new documents (IMM.., Etat Civil)
and they told me that i should do the medical :
Vous devez aussi vous soumettre à un examen médical effectué par un
médecin autorisé. Vous trouverez les instructions médicales dans une lettre
envoyée séparément.

But they didnt sent to me the medical email
I hope good news for you all

WOW, that's awesome news. Lots and lots of good news are being displayed lately.
It is easy to login. Just use this number instead of the old one with the same info in "check application status"
If it doesn't work then give it few days. Mine is working fine and it's also EP0xxxx
