You need the visa just to land.. they wont stamp your visa if you have less than 6 months on it so better to do it anyway..

if you got your visa already stamped on the expired passport, You just go to amn 3am you tell them that you want to renew your passport (or even if you want to order a new one) and that you want the old one attached to the new. It is easy and fast same application you just tick a box saying you want it.

when you receive it should be not only attached but with like golden stamp on it to make it official.

PS: YOU HAVE TO DO IT it is easier to do it in lebanon than in canada (renewal etc.. ).

Good luck with your landing. advice.. just bring with you the minimum (for winter clothing) cse nthing from lebanon will "work" here lol you need to buy evthg from here. get a ski jacket with you.. YOU WILL NEED IT

I have another visa (US) on my passport, therefore, for sure I'll keep the old one.
My problem was mainly when I land if the canadians will make an issue of their visa printed on an expired passport... so it seems no problem!!

No they dnt have a problem at all, my husband had it on his expired passport when we landed..

relax .. start searching for jobs.. and prepare your cv.. where you want to live etc..

Questions:
- What address can I give them upon landing to mail me the PR card? I don't have any addresses in Canada yet. What can be done in this case?
- I need to buy private health insurance including direct access to doctors and private hospital rooms, does this exist in Quebec - where to buy it?
- Is there any risk in landing few days only prior to visa expiring?
- Is there "really" a Canadian tailored resume? Anything need to be aware of when preparing my resume that is specific to Quebec/Canada?
- Is it a must to do degree equivalency in Quebec? I mean, I have an MBA from the US - don't they understand what's the equivalent of that without doing the equivalency?!

Yes it happens.. that means you got the "decision made" but usually you need between 2 weeks to a month till the visa get stamped.
