They do a lot more than checking the name against the canadian black list that's for sure. From what I read, they try to dig as deep as they can, even interpol might be involved. It would make sense to do that, or else anyone can come in. So that's why they say the last step can take a long time, because it's not just CIC who's involved.

As for ecas, yes it says medicals have been received for the last 3 months now.

haha ,i liked the " even interpol might be involved"!!! you are seeing alot of movies!! look those names on canadian black list are already in prior being listed on "interpol" list which is a part of canadian list it self.
so the check undergo on the basis of " on that list or not" no more no less as there is no capability to know more. but yes canadian citizen to everything else related to the immigration you are the master of masters i confess about that

Hello! E-case Status of my applications changed from APPLICATIONS RECEIVED to IN PROCESS. 26 JULY my medical exam done. Till now no news, what does it mean? They lost my medical ,did not received results?
